Tasting Notes: Bright and intense straw yellow color. The bitter almond, a typical characteristic of this cultivar, is immediate to the nose and harmoniously accompanied by notes of yellow and tropical fruit pulp. Its minerality is alive and sincere as the ponca from which this vine feeds. On the palate it does not betray expectations: it envelops it and reveals an excellent balance between its components; it amazes for its acidity excellently balanced by its softness.

Vineyard Notes: Vineyard location: on the hills in the municipality of Prepotto.

Production Notes: The winery is very attentive to to environmental impact and sustainability. The grapes are harvested manually in boxes, in the first ten days of September. The must is cold decanted and fermented in cement tanks at a controlled temperature. A small part goes through a quick maceration on the skins. The refinement takes place in concrete tanks for 10 months.

Winemaker Notes: My relationship with wine is based on the fascination that everything that is enclosed and preserved in it, transmits to me. When I taste a wine, I am excited to think about the wine making tradition of the place where it is produced, the diversity of the soils and the work of man… the full expression of the terroir.

Food Pairing: Perfect match for difficult food pairings such as artichokes and asparagus. It’s pairs beautifully with shrimp, scallops, fish, cured meats and any dish that needs a bright refreshment.

Other Notes: Riccardo’s main objective is to enhance the native wine and the local customs; this is the reason why he chose Spolert as the name of his winery. Spolert in the Friulian tradition was the center of the kitchen used for cooking food, but also to spread heat throughout the house. When you go to visit the winery, you will find the original splert, the one that belong to the old owners; Riccardo restored it to its splendor and now it is the leading actor of the winery.Riccardo’s main objective is to enhance the native wine and the local customs; this is the reason why he chose Spolert as the name of his winery.
