Aging: Aged in barriques for 12 months.
Tasting Notes: Ruby red in color with light garnet hues. The bouquet is intense with berries and cherries followed by light scents of vanilla and almond. Excellent structure on the palate, with enveloping softness and persistence.
Vineyard Notes: Vineyard location: Donori, Sud Sardegna. Soil type: sandy-calcareous. Altitude: 160 meters above sea level.
Production Notes: Long maceration for 20-30 days at controlled temperature with frequent pumping over and malolactic fermentation in steel. Aged in barriques for 12 months.
Winemaker Notes: Tenute Smeralda is a young agricultural company founded as a continuation of the Cocco Francesca company, which has been operating in the wine-growing sector for about 50 years. The company is located in Donori, South Sardinia, in the Parteolla area, which, thanks to its microclimate, is particularly suitable for the cultivation of native vineyards, such as Vermentino and Cannonau. The latter is known for its high content of procyanidins, a powerful antioxidant and known as the elixir of life.
