Harvest Date: Hand-harvested between the end of September and first half of October
Aging: Aged 12 months in oak wood barrels and barriques, followed by 2 months of bottle aging before release.
Tasting Notes: A vary vain wine indeed, like its name, “Vanitoso”, states. Dark ruby red in color. Aromas of fresh crushed cherries and raspberry on the nose. Fresh dark fruit and plum on the front palate. Hints of caramel and dark chocolate linger on the finish, and well-integrated silky tannins. A palate pleaser for sure!
Vineyard Notes: Vineyard location: San Casciano dei Bagni, Siena. Yields: 6 tons per hectare.
Production Notes: Yield: 6 tons per hectare. Fermentation in wood tanks at controlled temperature with selected yeasts. Aged 12 months in oak casks and barriques, followed by 2 months of aging in the bottle.
Winemaker Notes: Vanitoso is a blend of Sangiovese and Canaiolo produced with carefully selected grapes that arrive in your glasses after aging in wood.
Food Pairing: Very versatile, can accompany an entire meal. Particularly well-suited for roasted meat, game and aged cheese.
Other Notes: Cantine Ravazzi were founded by grandfather Enio in 1956. Since then the Ravazzi Cellars have conquered the territory between Umbria and Tuscany as a synonym of genuineness, and in the 60s and 70s they represented the good Tuscan wine to accompany the great traditional cuisine of Siena. Enio’s great passion has been transmitted to his son Alberto, who today heads Cantine Ravazzi. Under his direction the wines have acquired a different character, which has been able to conquer the best palates in the world. The qualitative development and the attention to design find their maximum expression in the “Collezione Privata”.
