Harvest Date: Hand-harvested between the end of September and first half of October
Aging: Aged for 20 months in oak barrels and in barriques. Followed by 3 months in the bottle.
Tasting Notes: Iroso, AKA the Angry one, has an intense garnet color. It opens on spicy notes, followed by morello cherry, plume, and violets aromas. The wine is full, harmonious, and warm. Good structure with elegant tannins which have been softened by the time in oak and the refinement in bottle.
Vineyard Notes: Vineyard location: San Casciano dei Bagni, Siena. Soil type: mix of Alberese and Galestro, rich in clay. Yields: 6 tons per hectare.
Production Notes: Fermentation in wood tanks at controlled temperature with selected yeasts. Maceration post-fermentation of 10 days. Aged 20 months oak barrels and barriques.
