Harvest Date: End of August
Aging: Stainless steel – no oak.
Tasting Notes: A blend of Grillo and Viognier grapes witrh a unique personality, great freshness and drinkability. Marked fruity and flowery notes, the taste is decisive and complex.
Vineyard Notes: Soil type: clayey and chalky, 500 meters above sea level, 4,000 plants per hectare.
Production Notes: After selecting the best Grillo and Viognier grapes those are then soft pressed and the fermentation happens in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature.
The wine is certified organic.
Winemaker Notes: While it is sometimes accused of having a neutral character, here Grillo gives the wine a fresh acidity and tempers the richness and texture of the Viognier. There are lovely floral scents and stone fruit flavours coming from the Viognier. Together, the two grapes create a balanced and engaging wine that could be enjoyed with fish in a tomato sauce like the traditional Sicilyn Tonno Alla Ghiotta.
Food Pairing: Perfect with seafood, vegetarian dishes and pasta with white sauce.
Other Notes: Just like a precious perfume, a handmade suit or a luxury car, every Feudo Luparello wine represents a moment of pure joy for wine lovers all over the world. Sicilyn indigenous varieties are very distinctive for their connection to weather patterns and soil composition.
